It's a great drive enclosure. For only $10 you can't go wrong with an aluminum bodied, slim base, Or can you... The adapter speeds are alright. I tested the same hard drive with an Orico enclosure, but got slightly faster speeds with +10MB/s faster read/write. At first when I initially plugged in the drive and placed it inside the enclosure, it would detect on my computer then immediately disconnect. Later, I'd try again but without the body and hard drive was detected and worked well. I found the problem being that on the underside of the PCB, there were two leads over extending from the usb controller. When this was placed inside the enclosure, it would short out due to it being an aluminum body. My solution to the problem was that I placed some electrical tape over the leads of the usb controller on the back of the pcb. Since then, the drive enclosures have been working well as its supposed to be.
