Not just a shampoo but also a toner, & not for EVERYONE!
Being in the beauty industry I've had access to a lot of products, especially color care. I've tried just about every "violet wash" you can think of including Oribe Bright Blonde, Davines Alchemic, & Lakmè Ultra Clair to name my top picks. However when I decided to bring this in with the promise of it not just to take away the brassy tones but to tone the hair for longer lasting results. I've had every shade of blonde, silver & even white over the years so these products are a must for me. I have to say that Fanola's No Yellow Shampoo is actually a great product, & I usually stick with Davines. However I have found this product works best when you work it. What I mean by that is 1.Make sure your hair is CLEAN no product no build up as the product can't reach the focile. Also be VERY aware of your past color applications especially if you have multiple layers of different colors overlapping in your hair. 2.Understand that this product was designed for color maintenance between color sessions, This is NOT a replacement for going & getting color, however it can prolong the time between visits with frequent use. 3.Realize that everyone's hair & color level is different so the suggested directions may need to be ajusted to fit your needs, most importantly the duration in which the product stays in your hair. So I wouldn't pay too much attention to posted before & after photos as your color level varies in different lighting, (natural light is the best,) & many are edited. 4.Dont expect miracles or instantaneous results, especially if you don't take the oxidation out of your hair on a regular basis (Once a week is generally recommended) you can't expect to buy this, leave it on for 10 minutes & have those cool tones back instantly. 5.Do the work, it's more than just a shampoo which means there is more required than to just slap it on. You need to be massaging this product into your hair the majority of the time it's applied (Roots To Ends.) As you do this you'll notice that over the course of the application your color will start to change, ( again WITH REGULAR USE.) Side note: Any or most Violet products can be used on more than just blonde hair as the pigments in the color are removing unwanted oxidation or discoloration. This is a great product for silver, & grey as well. Don't get it confused with other pigmented products that come in other colors (Red,Copper, Brunette, etc.) as those revitalize the pigment in your hair boosting your color while violet is removing unwanted pigments. I absolutely love this product, I'm a level 9 with some highlift 10 & use it regularly. I would not recommend if you can't commit to regular use, & I would say that with almost any Violet product on the market, shampoo or conditioner. You're better off not saying it doesn't work, & spending the time you could be writing a bad review booking your next color appointment. I am in no way associated with Fanola or this particular line of theirs, I'm just a professional in the beauty industry that wants to educate the public.
