Nice budget rope with a caveat
Overall I would say this rope is a pretty solid value. It's cheaper (in cost and in build) than a quality rope like a Rogue… but it's also like a third the cost.
I opted for this cheaper rope (I use a Rogue at the gym but I wanted a rope at home to use on off days). I usually buy quality (buy once, cry once) but for this I decided not to since it's just a Big Friggin Rope™ and I wasn't positive I would use it a ton.
This rope is supple and really heavy. I'm used to a 1.5 rope, but decided to buy the 2" and OMFG the increased diameter makes sets brutal.
I strongly suspect this rope will fray pretty hard over time (the strands are VERY soft), especially since I use it outside for the most part. I'm not worried though because if I use it enough to wear it out, I'll be able to justify the price for a higher quality jacketed rope.
So what's the caveat? The rope came to me with a number of snagged threads. There's already a photo here in Enj79's review, so check that out if you're curious. Mine looks exactly like hers, so I'm guessing it's not a super unusual issue.
But I honestly don't really care… it's just a big friggin rope, and so far it hasn't exploded or anything.
