Not the old Bushlore
First of all, the knife I recieved is NOT the knife pictured or the knife reviewed above. This is the NEW Bushlore knife and is worlds away from the first generation Bushlore knife. Condor really listened to the (totally justified) criticisms by their customers and reinvented this knife. It is still the same 1075 steel with the excellent heat treat. Still has the big comfortable walnut handle and funtional blade profile. The same first quality thick leather sheath. The significant changes are: The convex grind now extends all the way to the heel instead of starting 3/4 of an inch from the handle, and the blade is now 5/32 inch thick instead of the needlessly massive and heavy 1/4 inch. What you get now is a beautifully balanced, razor sharp wilderness tool that will give any bushcrafter (regardless of cost, custom or production) a run for it's money. It shaves out of the box and after batoning seasoned hickory for a cooking fire, cutting, trimming and sharpening a dozen hard maple branches into tent stakes, the edge was not rolled, chipped or damaged in any way. Still extremely sharp. I own some very expensive knives and I bought this to use as a "beater" but I would have no problem whatsoever betting my life on this blade. I have no affiliation whatsoever with Condor, just passing on to anyone wanting a quality bushcrafter for a bargain, DO NOT PASS THIS UP. When the word gets out the price will undoubtedly go up. The sheath is worth more than the asking price of the knife. Condor nailed it on this one.
