We've owned this for almost 2 years now. This one does NOT have any dinger or buzzer, it just shuts itself off when done. Measure the amount of time with how much water I put in it. (Soft, medium or hard-boiled level on the water measurer.) It says you need to use distilled water (or gunk will get built up on the heating element.. and it WILL!) but I use filtered water and use a magic eraser type of sponge to clean it all up. We use this at least 1 - 2 times per week. Loved it so much, we got my elderly mother-in-law one who loves hardboiled eggs. Eggs are PERFECT every time. l REALLY liked that the hole punch on the bottom of the water measurer was METAL! This is a MUST! Poached eggs are always perfect too. Can't say enough great things about this machine.
