Yeah, it shreds like a champ
This shredder does what it says. Eats up to 12 sheets, CDs (separate slot) and credit cards without complaint. This thing spins up before it feeds to get some momentum in the shredding mechanism. CD's are sliced into sections about 1.5 inches wide and paper is torn into pieces about 1/5 inch square. Edges are not clean cut so reconstructing anything that goes through this would be a mess. All in all a decent machine. If it lasts as long as our last shredder (10 years) it will get its fifth star. Update 21 September 2014 - 6 months of operation and this baby is still chomping away. I have learned that it likes to be lubricated about once every couple of months. I just pour a thin stream of 3 in 1 oil directly into the shredder blades. It speeds up as though to say "thanks...ready for some more." If it keeps up another 6 months without issue I'll give it the fifth star for longevity. Still very happy with this one. Update 11 September 2015 - So 18 months in this baby is still game for anything I want to feed it. I have gone through a couple hundred sheets at one sitting (no more than 10 sheets at a time) and never hit the thermal cutoff or experienced a jam. It has earned its fifth star. Well done Sentinal. Update 23 October 2016 - 31 months in and this beast is still going strong. No problems, no failures and no regrets. Where's that 6th star? Update 24 September 2017 - still chomping away. I've never yet hit the thermal limit even after 100's of continuous pages. It rarely stalls on heavy tasks and is still in very good shape. This is one tough beastie. Update 24 June 2019 - she is still chewing paper like the day she arrived. This has been one great value for the price. Update 7 July 2020 - she is used every other day or so and is still going strong.
