Just buy and try it.
My friend recommended diatomaceous earth to me as a solution for my daughter's ongoing pinworms. She has had pinworm "outbreaks" every 2-3 months for over a year now. I was at my wits end trying with it. My daughter is 6 yrs old and still sucks her thumb. I only mention the thumb sucking because I feel that is a route in which she keeps getting "reinfected". After reading up on all the data, testimonials and reviews on diatomaceous earth, I decided to give it a whirl. It sounded like magic beans to me. I personally have been suffering from what I believe is leaky gut, possible candida, and have been fighting Hashimoto's as naturally as possible. So this stuff seemed like a good idea to try out. My 2 lb bag arrived on a Saturday and I began taking it and giving it to my daughter that Sunday. It's now Thursday, less than a week from starting. My own personal experience: I immediately felt a "better" feeling in my tummy and proceeded to just be all out happy and productive. By the evening of the following day I began to feel worn out and grouchy and the next morning my body hurt in many areas; neck, ribs, left hip, and lower back, and I felt a migraine coming on. I immediately thought "I must be detoxing. By that evening I felt immensely better. I have had multiple normal "movements", which I haven't had in some time now (TMI?). I noticed that my body was able to sleep easier. Sleep and I have had an ongoing disagreement for quite a while so this was HUGE. By 10pm I could literally feel my body preparing to rest, whereas normally by 10pm I was hitting a sort of manic second wind and have always had a rough time falling asleep/shutting off my head. Now I can lay down and just pass out!!! That in itself is worth it. On top of that, I just feel happier. I feel less anxious, less nervous energy, am able to handle problems that arise with a calm and causative attitude. I went for a check up at my nutritionist yesterday, usually done monthly since finding out I had Hashimoto's. My nutritionist does muscle testing and normally my vitamin and supplements regimen is 20+ a day. Well, I left my nutritionist with a far shorter list of vitamins to take. I was ecstatic. On top of that, she muscle tested me on the DE and it completely indicated as needed by my body! WOO! My daughter has taken it every day as well since Sunday and there is a noticeable difference in her attitude. She's a good kid, but all kids can have spurts of "bad" attitude. But she has just been increasingly becoming more and more happy, helpful, and productive. WIN! I can't yet say anything about the pinworms, it's too early to know for sure on that, but I'm keeping my eye on it and will update in a couple months. Crossing my fingers I never have to see those little buggers again. I'm also planning on using this on our peach trees and as a "protective barrier" around the house to keep the pests out. Oh, and I saw a couple of reviews stating that the scoop wasn't in the bag. I thought the same thing for the first two days, and then I found it after some digging. It's a little, clear, baby scoop cup and hides REALLY well within the bag. So, keep digging, or just use something else. If you're trying to decide whether this product is for you, my honest opinion is that it's for everyone. It may not regrow a limb, but it definitely improves things!
