I have had a food dryer for over 30 years and it served its purpose with drying vegetables. In January 2019 my family gifted me with the Magic Mill for my birthday - Oh My Gosh what a treat to use, which it has been in almost constantly since taking it from the box. The SS racks pop right in the dishwasher after use drying meat, or sticky fruits. We have falling in love with dried Fuji apples, make yam slices as dog treats, died vegetables for powder smoothies, soups and salad dressings. I now have jars of dried veggies for soups when the store has limp produce. At last we are able to make our own jerky with clean ingredients! This is a huge benefit as my husband does wild land fire fighting in the summer and quality high energy foods are a must. The only down side is the owners manual could hold a few more recipe ideas for newbies. I plan on taking this valuable tool with me in our RV when we travel for remote jobs also - that is a real bonus - food driers run on 120 volt making them easy to use in an RV! The unit is also light enough that I an older female can lift and move the unit easily.
