I purchased this make and model based on comparing reviews in the price range +/- 50 USD. I had a Badger 1 which, to its credit, lasted about 8 years. I went with Waste King because it was an easy swap, has an 8 year warranty, increased my HP from .25 to .75, and is pretty quiet. If you are replacing a disposal, I have confidence that you can do this yourself. There are plenty of videos out there showing the ins/outs of these suckers. There really isn't much to these things. There is a knock-out, which you will have to remove if you are hooking up to your dishwasher. This too is easy (just don't forget to do it). Also, this comes wired and ready to go. If you are putting in a new disposal and need to add plumbing, you can still DIY, but I'd probably opt for a professional install. The last thing you want to do is experience water damage and/or electrical issues. It shouldn't be terribly expensive to hire out, and peace of mind (and safety) definitely have value. So far...so good. I will update this as time goes by. Update 6.17.17 - Another year down the drain. No issues, no clogs, still runs smooth and quiet. Update 6.4.16 - Some time has passed and just here to say all is well. I've had zero issues or concerns. I have come to realize and appreciate how quiet this is compared to the Badger.
