PURCHASE DATE: 15NOV17 PRICE: $19.99 REVIEW DATE: 18NOV17 I purchased this item for my hot and cold drinks at work. I have been using it now for a few days and it is better than I expected. I personally tested this item to see how it could retain the heat. I used a coffee machine and set it to the highest temperature possible. I found the average dispensing temperature to be approximately 170 degrees Fahrenheit out of the nozzle and once in the mug the liquid temperature would drop down to an average of 162-164 degrees Fahrenheit. I filled the mug with 10 ounces of boiling water. Once dispensed, I immediately placed the lid on the mug, started a timer on my cellphone for 30 minutes, and waited patiently. I wanted to mimic a person making coffee/tea and taking it to work with them with an average travel time of 30 minutes. I was guessing maybe a 10 degree or more temperature difference but received the following result: STARTED: 1700 HRS - FINISHED: 1730 HRS W/ TEMP @ 164 DEGREES The second time I tested it was at work by leaving ice and water inside. 24 hours later I still had approximately 20% of the ice balled up together and visible. For me this is good enough. Probably will use it at home for a nice ice cold adult drink. For the price and result I am impressed and will purchase some as gifts for friends during the holidays.
