Jade Leaf high grade ceremonial tea sourced from organic Japanese family farm
I purchased both the Jade Leaf and Kenko Matcha Green Tea Powder. Both are ceremonial grade Matcha about as pure as you can get. Both are sourced from small family farms in Japan and are tested repeatedly for radiation. Jade Leaf is slightly less expensive at $23.95 for 30G. Kenko is slightly more expensive at $27.99 for 30G. Kenko has a slightly sweeter flavor and the tea powder is a brighter green. Jade Leaf is not as sweet and a tad darker in color. I like them both equally and alternate between teas. I have become an avid Matcha tea drinker after being a long term espresso coffee drinker. The clean refreshing “buzz” keeps me alert for hours without the jitters. Also L-Theanine an amino acid found primarily in teas promotes relaxation, reduces stress, while at the same time boosts concentration and alertness. I can code for hours on this tea. Traditional ceremonial teas are packed in light tin containers that seal air tight. Keep them in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and cold. Jade Leaf arrived with a sealed bag of powder tea inside the tin. You simply cut the bag open then pour tea inside the tin. I think they took extra precaution for freshness by double packing. Kenko arrived with the tea loose inside the tin. It was not double packed. It didn’t affect the taste or freshness at all. Jade Leaf sent me follow up emails asking if everything arrived ok and if I was enjoying the tea. They also sent me coupons for future purchases. Nice touch. I like it when suppliers take the time to do this. Kenko sent me an email asking if all was good but they did not offer any future purchase coupons. All in all I like them both. If I had to buy just one next time I might go with Kenko because I prefer the slightly sweeter taste. I would recommend buying both as I did and do your own taste test comparison. These are two very good Matcha teas on the market and I wouldn’t bother with any other brands. Both of these teas are created in the highest strictest manner with emphasis on quality and taste. They also buy from small family farms which I like. I was not paid for this endorsement nor did I receive any incentives from suppliers for writing this review.
