The Cable Really Does Work When Connected Correctly
At first I was VERY disappointed with this item. I read the scant directions and plugged in my Samsung Galaxy note 8 to my Samsung LED TV and...nothing. Tried all kinds of settings and different video and photo players and...nothing. Plugged in my Samsung Galaxy note 3 smart phone to the same Samsung LED TV and...nothing. Took both to work and plugged into each of our three projectors and...nothing. WOW, I was depressed. Put the cable up on a shelf wondering what to do. After some weeks I went back and read some of the comments on this cable from others who had purchased. Some people had luck and some did not. After reading all the comments I became aware that the USB connection supplied the power necessary for the HDMI converter connection to work. WOW, nothing I read really stated that and I know that all USB source outlets found on computers, TV, etc. do not all provide power - so you really need to verify that your USB power source is an actual connection that supplies power. Knowing this I found that this converter cable works flawlessly if you do the following in the order I have listed: 1. Plug the HDMI connector to your TV or Projector first. 2. Plug the USB connector into a POWERED USB source. 3. At this point your projector or TV should display wording to the effect that there is no source connected to the TV/projector 3. Turn on your phone/tablet 4. Plug in the mini HDMI connector into your phone/tablet 5. The image seen on your phone/tablet should appear on your TV/projector 6. You are now in business I am not longer disappointed with the cable...only the instructions to make it all work and it works VERY well - in fact I was blown away with the high resolution and quality of my Note 3 photos and videos they were amazing - I love this cable and the new ability for my phone/tablet. Hope these comments help others.
