7-Gallon Heavy Fabric Breathaable Grow Bags
I initially purchased Three (3) Gallon Grow Bags, but I found them smaller than I expected, so I didn’t feel as if they met my needs (they only looked like they were one (1) gallon in size), therefore, I purchased these Seven (7) Gallon Grow Bags (see picture comparison) This was the 1st time I have used this type of grow bag. The bags are made of high quality heavy fabric with very good stitching (no loose threads) that holds a sufficient amount of soil for planting a small fruit tree, a tomato plant, several radishes, etc., What I like about the grow bags is that while You can grow plants inside it, the fabric is thick enough to retain the soil, and yet, it is breathable and allows the water inside to drain out easily. It also has handles on both sides of the grow bag that makes moving it after you’ve filled it with dirt, much more convenient, because the bag does tend to get heavy once full. UPDATE NOTE (08/12/2020): Just a few fyi’s for those new to these grow bags. I have found that Plant roots can/will (as per my tomato plant) grow their roots right through the bottom of the grow bag (who knew!), so keep that in mind when placing your grow bag. (I put plastic water catchers under each of mine) Also, when You water Your plant, if You see water coming out of/from the sides of the bag, just realize that over time the soil inside the bag can become compacted (as with any pot), but unlike other hard pots, with these, all you need to do is to whack! the sides of the bag (give them a good couple kicks or use a shovel to beat the sides of the bag) to loosen up the soil again. • I definitely RECOMMEND the Seller (Btw, I did NOT buy the 3 gallon bags from this Seller.) • I definitely RECOMMEND this Product! For my purposes this is the perfect size for growing most plants. These also look Great on a Porch, much more neat and tidy with all of the grow bags matching. Everyone that has seen them who are unfamiliar with grow bags are instantly converted & want their own!..*smiles* Other than the roots through the bottom (likely because I am using plastic water catchers!) I haven’t experienced any issues with them and they are all still going strong, even after sitting in water all day in the water caught by the catchers! (so likely because of how I am individually using them.)
