This rug looks and feels like a premium rug. It's incredibly soft, and is indeed very thick. I'm not sure about the 2in pile, but that doesn't seem to take away from it at all. It came wrapped in plastic inside a cardboard box, so it was fully protected from dirt and debris during the delivery process. I had to reverse-roll one end of the rug to get it to lay completely flat, but aside from that I really have no complaints. This rug is extremely easy to fluff back up, even after furniture has been sitting on it. Definitely worth it!
