I trim my cat's claws about once a week, and after buying a second set of these great stainless steel nail trimmers (admittedly: because I misplaced my first pair), I thought it was high time to toss in a review to let others know how nice they are. I purchased these stainless steel pet nail trimmers in the small-medium size. It has locking blades and comfortable, rubber-coated handles. One of the features that I particularly like on this set of nail trimmers is that it has a safety to help prevent injury to your pet's claws. You will still need to be mindful of avoiding the quick, of course, but the safety at least helps prevent a slip-up if your pet makes a sudden movement. The blades are extremely sharp and the reverse is spring-loaded so that once you release the locking mechanism (which is very sturdy), the blades easily come open and ready for use. The small-medium sized trimmer I purchased worked nicely for my cat, and I can see it working well for both small and medium sized dogs as well.
