This is a high quality hose. Here I offer an image of the packaging that was not shown in the advertising photos. This hose contains lead and possibly other toxins and must not be used for drinking water. This manufacturer, B&S, attempts to obscure this info from potential buyers. I still hope that this hose, being made of rubber, has lower concentrations of toxins than its competitors – but we simply don't know. The brass fittings are likely the source of the lead (in my opinion, lead-laden fittings should be prohibited on any consumer garden hose!). Also note that this hose has a "100% Rubber Cover", which begs the question as to whether there exists an additional inner lining in direct contact with the water stream that could conceivably contain additional toxins such as phthalates, etc. B&S has chosen not to reveal this info either. Again, I like this hose a lot, but the lack of complete openness by the manufacturer makes its purchase somewhat of a gamble, IMHO.
