So I was really skeptical about getting this because I am in a rental apartment. So I tested a little strip on the wall to make sure it wouldn't rip off paint. So I had 2 results, one time I didn't clean the wall and it lightened the wall. But when I did clean it beforehand, no trace at all!! So I recommend you throughly wash down the wall before application. But it sticks great and looks fantastic! For application you really need 2 people to do the job because the paper will try to fold on itself and its quite the task to push out air bubbles but so worth it. It will take time, so plan for a night where you don't have much going on and can be very meticulous. But seriously this is perfect for those of us who aren't allowed to use wallpaper and really gives the room character! Also for fun I put a little on my door just because! TIP: use a magic eraser if you plan on using liquid chalkboard markers and it will erase all "ghosting". **UPDATE: I just moved from my apartment and had to peel off the chalkboard. It came off flawlessly from both the wall and the door! Did not take any paint off or leave any marks on the wall. Super super please that I don't have to pay my landlord for damages ;)
