cured biter in 4 sprays
my aussie puppy was play biting REALLY hard, leaving scratches and bruises on my arms and ankles... she even drew blood on my face. i tried every method i could find including redirecting to a toy, or using praise when she stopped, or holding her mouth closed and saying "no bite".
at her check up i told the vet it was getting to be a real problem. he suggested that i buy this spray and give her one "no bite" warning and then spray it directly in her mouth. i only had to do this about 4 times. she has pretty much stopped biting now, but if she forgets in the middle of play all i have to say is "no bite" and she stops.
as for people who say that it's "abusive" to spray it in the dogs mouth, i will say that our vet suggested it and it certainly didn't seem to traumatize her. she made an unpleasant face and tried to spit it out for a minute, and that was about it. out of curiosity i sprayed it (yes, a full spray) in my own mouth. it's gross but not going to do any permanent damage.
since then i've put it on shoes and couch cushions and wires.. she instantly stays away from all of them.
it was a total miracle for us
