I think a good hot mitt is difficult to find. If I'm lifting something heavy (which takes longer), I need great heat resistance. If I'm handing something steaming, I need it to not penetrate. If I'm handling cake pans I need a mitt whose fingers are flexible enough not to poke into the cake. And all the time I need a mitt that's easy to clean and dry. Of the many I've tried, I like these the best and I like them a lot! I have average sized hands for a woman, and even though I can slip them on one-handed they don't fall off. Amazingly they also fit the hands of my 6'3" male friend well enough. There's sort of a stretchy glove liner inside that grips your hand. I clean these by putting them on my hands, and rubbing all surfaces together with a couple of drops of liquid detergent. Eventually I'll have to wash them inside but not for a long while. If the hanging loops are important to you, I'll mention that on one I received the loop was attached on only one end. An easy fix if you're handy.
