Reverse lights for pickup truck
Used for a set of auxiliary reverse lights on a dodge 1500. Backing up looking through factory tinted glass at night is a pain. So I tried brighter light bulbs but still lacking. Hooked these up by tapping into the towing harness, the seven pin not the 4 pin. Center pin is reverse. So now when the truck goes in reverse these come on. I measured each they draw about 2 amps each so its not a problem for the harness. Next the allen heads I snugged up and placed a little silicon around the cable coming out of the lamp housing just in case. The mounting was ok but had to drill out and use different screws as the threads on the aluminum block were stripped out. They are definitely bright and now I can see behind me, in fact at night backing up people move. I wouldn't go putting them on a switch since I think thats not legal for inspection. I do have them aiming slightly down and out toward the corner of the truck. We will see how they hold up in weather and time.
