I am so happy with this purchase. It is exactly what I was looking for. My shower/tub unit is a death trap. I think the unit was made with some extra slick polymer. I started out using those peel and stick grippers. Those loosen over time and they leave a lot of exposed space. And they are a pain in the butt to apply and especially to remove. I also tried one of those solid rubber mats. It was okay but I did not like the look. I just happened upon the Gorilla Grip mat on Amazon. I liked that it was clear, making it unobtrusive in the shower. I also like that it has holes in it for water to drain through. I think this keeps the mat cleaner and fresher between cleaning days. But most importantly, this baby can grip! The suction cups are super powerful. And there are 324 of them! This mat will not slip and slide in the tub. However, it will pull up easily when it is time to clean. You do need to press on each suction cup for the best results. I find that pressing on a few of them with my hands to anchor the mat and then walking on the rest is an efficient way to set the mat in place. Another nice feature is that liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioners do not make the surface of the mat slick. I highly recommend this product for all ages and levels of gracefulness.
