I just got it today, so I will update my review later on for those that actually read them like I do! I opened it & it didn't have a smell to it unless you stuck your nose right up to it, but it doesn't smell bad. No stains on it. I put it directly on to my bed without letting it inflate for a couple days. It started inflating as soon as I opened it, too, which is expected. UPDATE: So we've now had this for roughly a few months now & it's the best sleep I've gotten in a long time. I'm currently in my 9th month of pregnancy so finding a comfortable sleeping position without a pillow is nearly impossible, but I'm able to sleep a bit better with this on our bed. The only downside is tears fairly easily, so if you have dogs like us (or even cats) I would be extra careful with having them on the bed due to nails. Highly recommend purchasing!
