I added 91% isopropyl alcohol to this mini round firepit and it burned well and went off by itself. I lit it indoor as it says it is for indoors or outdoors. Out of curiosity, I called my local fire department and explained the firepit instructions on how it works/it's intended use ECT. The fire marshal did not reccomend burning it indoor as apparently rubbing alcohol can let off a small amount of carbon monoxide. He did say if you use it indoor again to make sure there is a window or door open but otherwise mostly reccomends it for outdoor use. I asked if it was ok to cook food on such a gas as rubbing alcohol and the fire marshal says it is fine to cook and eat food on such a flame however it may give it a funny taste and isn't the cleanest burning fuel. I hope that helps someone. I would recommend this as a gift 100% along with a note with all of the info I just gave to the reviewer so they know how to use it safely.
