As a city mail carrier, my lunches have been either whatever cold lunch I bring for the day or food from the gas station I deliver mail to. Having the same gas station pizza or sandwiches from home gets old. I cannot go "out" to lunch during my workday and like many people with similar employment, I crave variety. I purchased this little gem recently and tested it out on a steak and side for lunch earlier today. The steak was stored separately in an ice cooler before being placed in the hot logic mini. It was a cheap $3.44 New York Strip, probably no more than 1/2 inch wide. I wasn't expecting much. It cooked for 1.5 hours, which ended up being a little too long, since I don't like my steak to be as done as it was. The steak was by no means "gross". I was able to cut it using a cheap plastic knife with ease. It was flavorful and the best cheap steak I have ever had. I would just reduce the cooking time to 40 mins - 1 hour next time. The steak was not dry at all. I cooked it in a simple Rubbermaid type container, along with a side of green beans. Now, although I highly recommend the hot logic mini, there is 1 problem I have had with it... the dishes are too hot to eat placed on your lap when you first take them out. I do not have a table in the llv (mail truck) that I can use to eat on, so I have to remember to take it out early and give the dish a little time to cool down. I may end up purchasing some sort of lap tray in the future, but you should be aware that the item will be hot. Don't let this deter you from the purchase though, as it can be remedied.
