Excellent value cook kit
When using fuel canister/stove (etekcity) for my cook system, I pair it with this. The stove actually fits inside this, inside the mugs. I backpack in midwest, and West (sierras), and haven't found anything about I don't like. Easy to clean, stores well. I've cooked next to folks with systems that cost 10x as much and we'll eat at about the same time, and will share the trail again in the morning!--this is definitely not worth 10x less than what they paid! I don't remember weight off hand--definitely not ultralight, but definitely an extremely good value for a recreational outdoorsman. In other words, it's a good, low-risk, entry-level, kit. Note: I've also used it car camping for simple oatmeal/coffee breakfast, over open-fire. (the soot on the one is my pic is from open fire cooking). Also note that the pic is from Lyell Fork in Yosemite--definitely a 5-star destination! Take care! Update 11/2022: I've since backpacked another 500+ miles since review above. i'm leaving my review at 5 stars... This is an amazing value and does well to "keep it simple"--most important in the backcountry. There is also the gear triangle of consideration -- durability, price, lightweight... Pick any two, sacrifice the third. It does above average here too. The etekcity stove I pair it with continues to hold up and fits like a glove into the mug--very efficient. My only complaint is that the stove can't get heat into my food fast enough, and occasionally I have to improvise wind shield, but all this is part of the experience. Really minor complaints. Get out there! Hope to talk to you on the trail.
