I have a finished basement with some humidity I wanted to keep in check, which got worse when I had guests showering down there. I picked this unit up expecting to need to empty it every week or so. In 60% humidity and set on "comfort" mode, it'll fill up every 12 hours. 1.6 freaking gallons of water pulled out of fat air in only 12 hours! Amazing how well it works, so now I need to figure out how to plumb it in so I don't have to constantly dump it the hard way. The reservoir isn't too easy to remove or set back in place due to the tight fit, and each gallon is around 7.5 lbs, so consider the weight if you plan to empty it daily. Doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't buy this for my grandma. Nothing against this product, but I'd like to add a simple way to collect the water and filter it for drinking. I'm dumping water down the drain from this unit, then paying the utility company for water to drink. It would be amazing if I could pull off combining the two. Just something I didn't think of until after the purchase.
