I used this one time and dog fur was wrapped all around the brush. And I've seen people post pictures of fur wrapped around the brush as well. But so many have success with it. I figured I must be doing something wrong. I reached out to Shark, who were quick to answer! They gave me some tips on how to use the vacuum. Also, I watched a couple You Tube reviews of the product and one trick is you have to let the brush run for a bit after vacuuming to get the majority of the fur off the roller. The second time I vacuumed, I could see the fur wrapping around the brush. I ran it over a clean part of the carpet a few times and let it run without picking anything up and sure enough, the excess fur came off. Only a few strands were on the roller, but much less than my first try, and way less than any competitor. I pulled off the few strands so they didn't build up. If you plan on using this like any other vacuum, you may not get the results as promised. Use it per the instructions and as designed, and it will work!
