Does the trick.
I live in a noisy household and I needed something to drown out sound when I'm inside my room. This little sound machine does a pretty good job for the price. I like the adjustable sound so that when things get louder outside I can turn up the white noise. It has 6 sounds, but I prefer the plain white noise.
One thing I do notice is a slight tone every few seconds on white noise setting. With time your brain gets used to it, but I do notice it sometimes.
