Initial impression? We may have a winner.
Our current stick vac.....
Electrolux Unirapido had finally come to the useful end of its battery life.
Time for an upgrade!
Dyson V6, V7, V8? Refurbs or new?, All with way more power than our Electrolux, but I wanted more flexibility (and power).
Since there was NO WAY I was going to pay 400 to 600 for a Dyson V10 or V11, thought I would take a look at the Huge assortment of Chinese vacs shipping from Amazon.
Did my usual 30 day investigation and research. At one time, had 5 different finalists in my cart.
Picked the Jashen V-16 based on Power, Kpa, Attachments, and other Features.
Price was right. Higher than the
118 dollar ones but no where near the levels of the leader, Dyson.
We paid more than the cheap Vacs and really did get more.
First thing I noticed is the nice job of packing and the triple boxes!
When I unboxed it, my impression of the materials and quality of the plastics was beyond what I had expected.
After quick assembly, turning it on for about 3 minutes to check the suction and noise, I did the obligatory 3 hour charge.
Slick LED readouts on the back of the vac showed the suction power and battery charge levels.
Spouse then grabbed it and quickly vacuumed three rooms of the house. Actually cleaned our wool area rug in the living room and removed every hair left behind by two lazy dogs.
Spouse seemed ok with the machine, but is generally reserved when I bring a new gadget into the home.
She then continued to the tile floors in the kitchen and hallway, next the dust & hair nests hidden in
many other corners.
Now on to the wood floors.
Under the dresser and desk and bed with ease, my wife smiled as she shut it down for the third time to empty the bin.
Lotsa hair that we didn't know was there.
Oh, and she had just hit the house hard with our DC-14 (Classic, yet still my favorite) two days before.
My wife performs her vacuuming with the intensity of an olympic sport.
Well, so far she is happy with her Jashen V-16.
We will play with it for awhile and most likely will order the spare battery and an extra hepa filter.
I will update this review later and let you know how it goes in the longer term.
Update: thought we had a problem with the bright LEDs going off and on. Suspected a loose connection. Turns out that there is a light sensor on the top and if you don’t need the light you don’t get any.
Everything still fine.
