This is a very comfortable mattress, HOWEVER, I strongly recommend only using it as a mattress topper. I bought this with the hopes of completely replacing the old mattress that came with our 10+ year old sofa bed. Unfortunately, I was not able to do this because 4 inches really isn't a lot at all. You see...if your sofa bed is anything like mine, there's a really uncomfortable, horizontal bar right in the middle of the bed. While you don't have to worry yourself with this bar too much just for a temporary arrangement (like a sofa bed is made for), I'm using this bed as a long term bed indefinitely. So this mattress is really nothing when it comes to that bar, and you can feel every little thing under the mattress. Maybe newer sofa beds are made with smaller mattresses or something and don't have that bar? Regardless, that's why I had to use it as a topper instead and keep the old mattress anyway. I still gave it four stars because, as a topper, it is wonderful. This doesn't even feel like a sofa bed thanks to the soft memory foam. It's very comfortable on what would have otherwise been a very unpleasant mattress. I recommend it strongly as a mattress topper, even for a regular mattress. But it was far too thin to use by itself for me. If you are buying it to replace a mattress, you should probably keep the old one around...just in case!
