My new kindle paperwhite was on backorder so I held off ordering a case, not liking the available options. When I got the kindle shipping notice a month later I searched again and found this case. Price was a little good to be true but I needed a case so I bought it. It has greatly exceeded my expectations. When it arrived I checked for the smell that others have commented on but found almost no odor at all-and nothing objectionable to my sniffer. It fits the kindle perfectly and the flap at the top which tucks in helps keep the kindle secure-great design. The black case and black face on the kindle paperwhite look very handsome together. The magnetic closure works perfectly and the wake on open feature is handy. The case is padded and this adds a little bulk but overall it's still pocketable or easy to hold. The top cover easily folds to the back for one handed reading. The protection also is quite good-I dropped it onto concrete getting out of an airport van and there was no damage to either the kindle or cover (please don't try this at home.) Overall I have been pleasantly surprised by this case and it has greatly exceeded my expectations. It's a great value and a proves that a great case doesn't have to cost 1/3 the price of the kindle.
