I am very happy with this bra. I used it with the pads (because they seemed big and I wanted to try before removing the pads). The fabric is very soft but strong at the same time. I am 36D and bought them Large (I am 5' and 5" tall, weight 140); fortunately there is no bulk on my sides (which is something that happened to me in the past with similar bras). I really, really like these bras, very comfortable. I also tried them without the pads and are great! No see-thru, hold the girls very good as well (in fact I was almost impressed on how good it was holding them without the pads). So, I recommend this bra. The only thing I don't like is that the back is high, but maybe that's how it can hold the girls in the front so good, and the straps don't hurt you in the shoulders :-)
