My waist is between 32 and 32.5, so I thought I could get away with a Medium according to their size chart. As you can see in my pictures, it was tight for me. It squeezed my midsection enough to give me a slight muffin top, and I personally cannot stand clothes that are tight. I reordered in a Large, and it's extremely comfortable. The fact that the size chart said Large is for 32.5 to 34.5 waist made me think it would be too large for me, but not at all- it still sits securely at my waist, and feels strong- just comfortable. I'm planning to use these pants for light summer hiking and I'm not afraid of them being loose. They are fashionable enough to wear out too. I'm 5'3'' and 137 lbs, the pictures were taken a week apart so I didn't gain or lose any weight, it's just the fit of the pants. I find the pants overall to be of good quality for the purposes that I purchased them for.
