My husband and I purchased a car that was owned by a chain smoker. The car was a great value, so we bought it thinking that it wouldn't be so hard to get the smell out. What we discovered was that the smell was so much more potent than we'd thought possible. We couldn't get in and out of the car without our clothes and hair smelling of smoke. The smell would give us a headache when we tried to drive the car. We parked it in the attached garage one night and when we got up the next morning, the entire house smelled of cigarette smoke. I shampooed the carpet, tried cleaning the headliner and did a thorough cleaning of the car. We set off the scented car foggers and also used the air neutralizer that you spray into the vent intake under the hood of the car. Nothing seemed to take the smell away. My husband suggested trying an ozone generator. Pep Boys does this for $60 for 3 hours and though I considered going there, I knew we would probably need more than 3 hours. We bought this machine. It did take several 2 hour cycles to get the smell out, but each time, it was noticeably better and better. After a week of doing it every day, the car now has a clean smell, not a smoke smell. We are finally able to enjoy the car we bought. I would recommend this product to anyone. I have used it for odors much less offensive and strong and 1 cycle will typically clean the air. So happy that we bought this item.
