As you probably know, since you are looking at this product, squeakers die in pet toys. Prematurely probably, but the stuffing coming out is usually a concurrent event. So getting these made me think life would be grand for the pet again. Wrong. There is nothing wrong with these squeakers, but what you are putting them in is mostly likely on it's way to the island of zombie rag toys (trash). So here is a quick suggestion and my puppy seems to love it. Take a pair of short tube socks, put three squeakers in one, twist once, then stuff it in on itself. If you have ever folded socks you are right up to speed so far. Then take that sock and put it into the other, and tie off the leg. The squeakers are now 3-4 layers deep into tube socks. That's more protection than any pet toy I know of. Now get out those 12 colored Sharpies and draw a funny face on the sock. Puppies can squeak and not puncture the squeakers. Dogs don't chew tube socks very easily and tube socks are cheap by the dozen.
