We purchased this popcorn machine in February, 2014. Nearly five years prior to my writing this review. Since then we have enjoyed 'family movie nights' with popcorn from this machine very regularly. The machine is easy to use, it does a fantastic job popping great tasting popcorn, and cleans up well in between uses. About a year ago, I noticed rust on some of the screws in the popping kettle and, more alarmingly, on the metal roof of the machine. Over the past year, it has continued to deteriorate pretty rapidly so the point where I grew concerned the screws would break and I was wiping out rust flakes from the bottom of the machine before each use. Looking into buying a new unit, I realized it as a 5 year guarantee, so I e-mailed the manufacturer, including three photos of the corrosion I was seeing and my receipt from Amazon. Within a half hour of sending my e-mail, they replied that this was an issue with some older units that has been addressed and they would send me a new unit for free. No questions asked, no difficulties whatsoever. In just about a week, the new popper arrived on our doorstep. I have no reason to believe the company lied about resolving the corrosion issue but, even if I do have the same issue again, I'll have had 10 years of popcorn from my original purchase and am totally fine with that.
