If you really are looking for the brightest light -- meaning more lumens on the road, buy from Philips! Their engineering is fantastic compared to all manufacturers in the market today. If want the cool factor and you're trying to imitate the white/bluish hue of HIDs, don't buy this product. Remember, the higher the Kelvin rating of your bulbs, the duller the actual lumen output. For example, Years ago most headlight bulbs averaged around 3000K to maybe as high as 3500K -- a bright yellow hue; then came along HIDS with 4300K -- bright white with still a little yellow; 5000K -- pure white; 6000K -- bright white with a little blue hue (the most popular of HID conversion kits); 8000K -- bright bluish hue and so on. The bulbs in the last sentence become duller and duller on the road. Unfortunately, many people are still purchasing colored halogen bulbs -- like the 9006 and 9005 bulbs with a claimed "HID-look" -- that appear slightly blue. They indeed are a little blue, but they also have less light output. Why do I use the word "unfortunately"? Because they simply cannot see down the road as well and these HID wannabes are dangerous! Okay, going back to this product, the Philips XVS X-Treme Vision bulbs. The light output is better than Sylvania bulbs and any other product out there right now. Do your research and you'll come to the same conclusion. I want you to know I have an MBA/Industrial Engineering background and I'm board certified in optics/lenses; thus, I also look at other aspects of the light bulb design. Philips designs light bulbs, both their HID bulbs (used by Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, et.al.) and their halogen bulbs with unique physical properties that assures you the light is aimed not only further down the road, but also in absolutely perfect alignment. Because of this combination of the element and lens design, it is imperative that you or your dealer realign your headlight assembly once you install these bulbs. Just for the fun of it, make sure you do a before and after test on a local road that has reflectors embedded in the pavement. You'll be amazed at the difference! I cannot impress you enough that these are your best value in lighting. Highly recommended product!
