Best serious air purifier on the market for allergies and dust
I did not get this from Amazon, but unlike a Vine review, I did pay for it. I have 3 set up in my house with 3 Sharp Plasma Clusters. I'm trying to get rid of 2 IQAir health pro compacts that are just too loud and the pre-filter costs too much to replace every 6 mo. I will upgrade the review to 5 stars once the results from my Dylos laser particle counter are in over a few days. I didn't own the legacy Winix 5300, but from what I can tell this is pretty much the same thing with a smaller footprint, and to me, a more attractive minimalist design. Should also be able to use the cheaper Fellowes AP-300PH filters. The part number in the manual is 115115, same as the legacy unit. Update: These things are amazing. Left in sensor automatic mode, the baseline reading in the main part of the house where the Winix 5300-2's are went to almost zero on the dylos laser particle counter. It generally keeps the purifier on the lowest setting. The count was 9 small particles, and 1 large one. Anything below 75 is excellent, and below 300 is good. The Sharps + IQAir on full blast would get pretty low, but not that low and you couldn't stand to be in the house. I don't have a way to see how it does with VOC's, so I can't say how it holds up to a full size IQAir with a V5 odor and gas cell, but I'm not going to miss my IQAir compact that doesn't have that capability what so ever. The fan in the dylos is louder than the Winix.
