Been using George foreman grills for several years, and i have been through MANY of them. some with removable plates, and others with NON removable plates. I decided to go with this Hamilton beach this time, just to see if they are made any better than the George foreman models. Word of WARNING.. the grill plates are NON REMOVABLE ! i didn't realize this until after i ordered this and it shipped. I figured i would simply just return to amazon and get another brand or model that had removable plates. I re read some product reviews, and found a great tip to make clean up a breeze. after you have finished, take TWO paper towels wet them down good in the sink, and wring them out, and SET THEM on the hot grill plates and close the lid. this works like magic! after the grill is cool, repeat the process and use a sponge with some soap for really tough stains. clean up is a breeze this way. wish i had known this years ago. the drip tray slides in UNDER the grill and locks in place no more edge drip trays like you get with the George foreman unit. been using this for a while now and I love it. thank you to the reviewer that shared the wet paper towel trick. It really works!!!
