The majority of reviews of this tool are very positive and I have to add my enthusiastic echo. The FixMeStick was a little tricky for me at first as I have an older laptop, but the great thing about it is the support that comes with it. After the first few attempts at scanning proved unsuccessful, I contacted them by email. I received a prompt reply with simple directions on how to boot the FixMeStick in an advanced way. Once I followed the procedures, the device found a number of virus programs and quarantined them, restoring my laptop's performance. Note that these were not adware files or minor threats, they were complete malicious programs that took over the PC. Once I submitted my question to tech support, they were able to check the log of the scans from the device's serial number. After the cleanup was completed, the support agent also made some recommendations on speeding the PC up as he was able to see my desktop and which programs were running simultaneously. The viruses that FixMeStick found were never picked up AVG antivirus, SuperAntispyware, and Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes was a free version but the others are paid subscriptions. The reason that FixMeStick succeeded where they failed is that it scans your entire system before you let Windows boot up, because the viruses are able to hide within Windows. This was money well spent, and I am grateful for the support I received. The company is in Canada, I believe, and they are a very professional outfit. No frustrating outsourcing of tech support to India. Thank you, FixMeStick.
