I had just purchased this when I had this awful stench of death in the basement. It seems that a mouse died in the ceiling tile and was taking nature's course, as all things do in time. Hooked this baby up and the smell that was there for two days was gone within the hour. So happy with this I bought another one. The fan sound is like a white noise, so I sleep right through it. Plus the blue light makes a perfect night light. The price is right and it gets the job done. One other thing the blue light does have and off/on switch so you can decide your preference on that. Low/high setting on fan is a great option also. The small size is compact enough to fit on my computer desk or off to the side in any room. I am not a smoker, yet I deal with dust build up and this does filter those particles out, when I clean the plates off weekly.
