Does a good job
Bought this ramp for my mom's two 13 year-old dogs, a Lhasa Apso and Shih Tzu, who were having trouble negotiating the stairs to get up on the bed. The ramp is wider than it looks in the pictures, which is good, because the dogs feel more comfortable going up and down on a wider surface. It's also tall enough to reach almost to the top of a 27 inch tall, king sized bed. Most of the other ramps I looked at weren't tall enough for this bed or were way too steep to be of any use. The ramp's slope is gradual and not too steep. Both dogs have arthritis and can easily handle the slope on this ramp. Please note, the ramp is very long in order to keep the slope gentle, and it takes up a lot of floor space, so be sure to measure your space to make sure you have enough room. We have the ramp set up parallel to a king sized bed and it's just under 2/3 the length of the bed. The ramp is very sturdy too, but I'm not sure it would hold 200 lbs., as advertised. My only complaint with this ramp is that the surface should be be more textured so the dogs can get a better grip. The surface is not slippery, but the dogs have small paws and I can see that they have trouble getting a good grip on the surface when they go up and down. Bigger or heavier dogs might not have this problem. All-in-all, it's a good, functional ramp, the price is very reasonable, and I recommend it.
