Phone has crystal clear sound quality. Large easy to view screen and buttons, makes phone easy to use. Even though there is no battery backup, if the power goes out, the time and date settings do remain as long as the batteries in handset are charged (the biggest pet peeve with my last phone is that it had to be reset every time it rained here in Florida!). I am not an advanced user of some of the functions on this phone, so I can't help you there. I took away 1 star for 2 reasons. 1) Even though when you add people to the phonebook on one phone it will be available on all handsets, speed dial numbers must be set on each individual handset. 2) When using speakerphone feature on the handsets, the speaker is on the back of the phone while microphone is on front....so when lying phone down the sound from speaker is muffled. The separate volume button on side is nice, and phone is loud enough for my 72 year old mother with moderate hearing loss. This is NOT a phone for the hearing impaired if you need a really loud volume setting.
