A must have, under certain conditions..
If you are like me and have a radio that has both usb and aux ports, but no Bluetooth, then this is a accessory is a must have. For the longest time I have been contemplating just replacing my entire radio because Bluetooth is far superior to auxiliary, but i didn't want to spend $100 or more on one. Then I came across this.
First of all I was a little scared that it would not work with the usb port on my radio, because I know it wasn't meant for charging. What I would suggest is to plug your phone into it first, and see if it charges your phone. If is does, you are good to go. Fortunately, my phone charged so I ordered right away. When it got here, I used the 3M tape disc to apply the soundbot to the desired location, then I plugged in all the ports, and hid the wires behind the dash. Setup was a breeze, and as long as you have Bluetooth on, your phone will pair immediately any time the sound bot it on. One of my favorite things about the soundbot is that songs are way louder and sound a bit clearer that when played directly through auxiliary (not sure why).
The included 3-port cigarette lighter charger was icing on top of the cake. This thing in far superior to any you will find in any store. It is metal, and feels very durable, not to mention looks very stylish. They also have 3 ports ranging from 2.4 amps to 1.0 amps for different devices.
CONS:
Also, had my radio not had a usb port, or had the usb ports not powered the soundbot, the device would not have worked for me because my aux port and the cigarette lighter are farther away that what this cord allows. If I had to estimate, I would say you have about 12 inches of cord to run between the usb and aux, so if they are any further than this, you will likely need an aux extender. This however was not an issue for me
Overall, these are small issues. I love this little thing, and have already recommended it to all of my friends and family that do not have Bluetooth radios in their cars.
