Seems to work well so far. Some Notes on Propane Use
Only ran it a little bit so far but it started right up (after figuring things out as I describe next) and it provided power right away. Docs are a bit confusing for Propane users since manufacturer has improved/modified the product (new regulator) and inserted fliers in the packet to explain usage changes... but the fliers seem inaccurate too. So my main purpose of this review is to help you in case you are buying the latest model and are using Propane. I Called Customer Service (very friendly) and here are the instructions I got for propane startup and use: 1--Generator ships with one lead wire to battery disconnected and you have to connect that first. Obviously won't start otherwise. Manual and fliers didn't mention that and I was confused at first why it wouldn't start. 2--Cust Service said when using Propane to start with and leave Choke in Middle position (contrary to labels and user manual instructions). Seemed to work. 3--When using Propane, leave idle control always in OFF position. 4--Manual talks about using a propane pressure release valve at startup, but that's no longer present or needed with new regulator. Other things that -were- clear in manual about propane but I might as well mention them for completeness: 1--turn gasoline valve off when using propane 2--put generator main breaker in off position before first starting. 3--turn key to start. If engine doesn't catch after 5 secs, then stop and wait 10 secs, and try again. Mine started on the third cycle of this. 4--Once started let engine run 3-5 minutes before turning breaker on and plugging in devices 4--if a device plugged in doesn't seem to be powered, the GFCI button on the socket on the generator probably needs to be pushed. 5--when done using generator, do the shutdown in this order: unplug devices, turn off main breaker, turn off propane valve on propane tank, let engine die, then turn off key. Hope these note help you!
