This is a MUST HAVE - Perfect for our Deaf Boxer Girl!
This collar is FANTASTIC. We live on 15 acres out in the boonies and our driveway is about a mile long so we have our dogs out in our yard loose. They know they aren't supposed to go past the barn or into the woods....buuut you know how that goes. Britt is our deaf white boxer girl and she likes to bend, aka break, the rules occasionally (quite frequently). A few weeks ago we let her outside to do her business with her sisters and less than 5 minutes later went to bring them in...and Britt was nowhere to be found. Long story short, we did find her but since she is deaf it took a while because we couldn't call her. This collar has solved our problems and keeps my family's mind at ease when we let little Britt outside now! We only use this collar when she goes outside. It hangs on our front doorknob and every single time she goes outside we put this collar on her and turn it on so that if she decides to go on one of her little jaunts where she's not supposed to, we are able to find her much easier now. We also attached a Bear bell to this collar so that on top of the pink blinking neon light, we can hear her jingle jangling along. I can see how some reviewers are having trouble with the collar not lighting up when they put this collar to heavier use. If you are connecting a leash directly to this collar and your dog pulls consistently, that might cause some damage to the way the LED lights connect to the charging port or each other. If you plan on having a separate collar for daily use on your dog and attaching a leash to it, then placing this collar on as well for visibility on walks, then you will be fine. I will update our review if something happens to the collar but I really don't foresee that happening considering our light use of it. Britt has a 17" neck and we can slide a size medium over her head when at it's full size. Sliding it on is a little snug, but it definitely isn't loose sliding it over her noggin. I also have a Pitt named Fitz that has an 18" neck and we usually use a size 22" collar on him, the size medium just fits him as well and I would definitely not go up another size. Our Retriever/Golden mix Izzi (I know that's 3 and that's not even all of our dogs- yes we are cray) has a 22" neck and thicker fur and the size medium does not fit her so we will be ordering a large for Miss Izzipotamus. After using this for our deaf dog we absolutely love this collar and now all of the dogs are color coded when they go outside for tinkles. If you have a larger yard or property just buy it. You will love it. I also recommend grabbing a bear bell and throwing it on there as well so that you can hear where your dog is if they are being bratty and ignoring you while you're calling them!
