I'm using this cold pack for post-surgery shoulder. IMO: At $27.99, a bit pricey. After in the freezer for several hours, it gets really cold, so I always have at least one layer of cloth between it and my skin. In the freezer, developed some frost or thin ice on its surface, but so far, nothing to impede using it. The first couple of times I used it, I left it flat in the freezer, and it froze rigid and flat, but I experimented with re-freezing it so that it was curled-up in roughly the configuration in which it would be on my shoulder. This freeze-while-curled technique worked well enough for my needs. This model's pouch seems well made, and although one velcro strap is shorter than the other, the shorter one is long enough to wrap around the upper half of my arm (above the elbow a few inches), and the longer one is long enough to wrap around my back then front of torso, velcro'ing on top of the shoulder. Bottom-line: Although a bit pricey, I would buy again.
