I have an autoimmune disorder that can cause nerve damage, and as a result my feet, legs, and hands are frequently cold. Nerve damage-type cold in one's extremities is different because it's very hard to get warm again, and cold temperatures added to it can make it unbearably painful, so I'm always looking for heat-retaining slippers, socks, gloves, and leggings. I read about these socks in a Buzzfeed list last night while trying to warm up my feet (and shortly before seeing a weather report that temperatures in my town would be dropping about 20 degrees overnight), so I ordered them and thanks to the overnight delivery option, they arrived on my doorstep early this morning. I'm now wearing a pair and wondering how I ever got along without them. The wool is brushed and incredibly soft, no scratchiness whatsoever. They are thick, well-sewn and well-woven, and retain heat even better than my slipper booties. My only regret is that they're too thick to wear with any of my shoes! I'll just have to try this brand's thinner socks soon - if the quality is even half as good as the thick socks, they'll be just fine. I'm so glad I took a chance on these.
