Exactly what I wanted - a sturdy, mobile table for my laptop
I got this table to use while relaxing in my lounger in our game room so I can comfortably play World of Warcraft and browse the internet on my laptop. I'd previously used a lap desk, but I wanted a free-standing table not reliant on my lap. I'd looked at some smaller laptop tables, but wanted ample room for my mouse and whatever else, so I thought a table like this would be a great option. Overall it went smoothly, but there were a couple things I thought would be helpful to point out. Packaging The table was packaged well and the table top wrapped in plastic to protect it. All the hardware was packaged neatly and numbered according to the instructions. There were two straps around the box to keep it secured, but you could tell people had lifted it by those straps so they had cut into the box slightly. That didn't appear to cause any damage. My only packaging complaint is they screwed the mounting bracket through the plastic so I had to loosen the 8 screws to cleanly remove it. Assembly & Instructions I assembled this myself in a leisurely 30ish minutes. Some of that time was spent getting tools and petting dogs. You will need a large Phillips head screwdriver, 10mm wrench and they say a 16mm wrench, which I didn't have in my wrench set, but I used a 5/8" wrench successfully instead. I thought the instructions were very well written, easy to follow and clear. I included photos of the instructions so you can decide for yourself. The only assembly challenge I had was in step 5 - the holes didn't align properly. So I loosened the nut in step 4, adjusted the bracket and everything lined up. So maybe wait to completely tighten the nut in step 4 until you've ensured those holes are lined up. Lift Mechanism In reading the reviews, I was a bit worried that any time I barely grazed the table, it would pop up and fling my laptop across the room. That is not the case, fortunately. I can bump the bottom of the table pretty hard, and it only slightly moves up in small increments. If you open palm the bottom of the table (like waiters hold serving trays) you can slide the table up. It's not the smoothest action, since the lift rod keeps it from flying up, but it's not bad. I set my drink on it, pushed up and was fine. Nothing wild happened. The lowering lever is easy to use (especially when installed correctly). I'm starting to get arthritis in my hands and have somewhat poor grip, so it's nice to be able to use this lever with ease. Lowering is very smooth and simple. Sturdiness I expect to rarely have more than my laptop and mouse on here, so I'm not super concerned about a weight limit, but pressing down on the table, it feels sufficiently sturdy. Quality Structurally, I think the quality is great. It didn't take much to put it together and it feels strong. The table top does have some small chips around the edges where it was cut and I imagine I'm going to wear it down more by resting my arms on the edge. If it gets bad, I'll just wrap it in a PVC countertop wrap (like from EZ FAUX DECOR, which we used in our kitchen). The wheels are pretty basic wheels, nothing fancy, but they work great. Size The tabletop measures 15x30 inches. I can comfortably fit my laptop and mouse with room to spare. Overall This table is exactly what I wanted. It was easy to put together, it's easy to use and it's very sturdy. I'm so pleased with this table and recommend it for anyone wanting a reasonably priced, decently-sized, roll-around table that fits nicely around furniture. I hope this was helpful!
