I have to admit, I was really skeptical about buying this product. I have been using SOS pads on my cast iron pans for over 30 years, and I had no issue with them - I just re-seasoned my pans pretty regularly. Many people over the years have scolded me for doing this (you don't need to add a comment to this review to reiterate that - I get it). However, I just never found ANYTHING that worked as well as an SOS pad. Until now. I've tried stainless steel sponges (without soap), scotch brite, and countless other scrubbers over the years, but I always went back to SOS. I bought this product out of sheer curiosity because it was a lightning deal and had unbelievably good reviews. I have to admit, I was shocked at how well it works. Because it is made of interlocking smooth rings, it leaves no visible scratches on the pan at all - yet it somehow is able to easily clean out really messy backed on crud. Also, I find it to be the perfect size for ALL of my cast iron cookware - because it is about the size of my hand. I can't imagine getting a smaller one. I also like that it has a large ring on one corner, so I can hang it on a hook next to my sink. I found that food particles rinse out of it very easily (wasn't expecting that either). However, I still throw it in my dishwasher from time to time to make sure it is thoroughly clean and sanitized. All in all, I would call this product a home run!
